Requirements for Employees with High Asbestos Exposure Risk


If you are a maintenance or construction worker at WSU, you may be at high risk of asbestos exposure.  If you don’t know for sure about your potential for exposure to asbestos while working at the university, please contact the WSU Department of Environmental Health and Safety and ask to speak with an asbestos safety professional on the staff.

Employees with high risk of asbestos exposure are required to have annual asbestos awareness training, must be informed about the type and location of asbestos-containing materials in their work environment, and must receive specialized training for individual tasks which involve disturbance of asbestos-containing building components.  You may obtain information regarding health and safety requirements for high risk tasks by following the links below.
