Safe laser operation is essential to protect personnel from radiation, electrical shock, fire, and chemical hazards. Laboratories using Class III and IV lasers are to implement a written laser safety program as part of their Laboratory Safety Manual. Environmental Health and Safety has developed a Laser Safety Program Template for laboratories to use in developing and implementing their specific program.
