Workstation Lighting
Proper ambient lighting can increase user comfort, increase productivity and prevent computer vision syndrome. Computer work areas should have moderate, indirect lighting, about half the level of non-computer work environments.
You can reduce overhead lighting by:
- Turning off lights
- Having Facilities Operations remove some of the light bulbs
When lowering the amount of overhead light it might be necessary to use task lighting to illuminate documents.
If you are sensitive to fluorescent lights, then consider having full-spectrum lighting installed. Full-spectrum lighting is close to the color rendering of natural sunlight. They are available through University Stores.
